Dr. Beshara Helou attended the American University of Beirut where he graduated with honors in 1987. He received a bachelor’s in biology. He subsequently attended medical school at American University of Beirut and graduated in 1994. He did his residency at George Washington University and graduated in 1997. After that, Dr. Helou moved to Lewes, Delaware where he started his medical practice. Dr. Helou has been in practice for 27 plus years managing patients with a variety of chronic illnesses. In his practice, he focuses on preventative health as well as chronic disease management. He has a large population of diabetics as well as those with complex medical illnesses. He has seen his practice grow over the past 27 pus years. During this period, he has seen his younger patients get older, some of the older patients pass away and some of the healthy patients develop more chronic illnesses. He realized the intense need for more time listening to his patients addressing the complex issues reviewing their treatment options and helping them achieve the best quality of life as they age. Dr. Helou remains dedicated and committed to caring for his patients and the community. Dr. Helou has been voted Delaware’s Top Doctors 13 times in the past 15 years.
