Eleanor deGuzman-Berube, MD has practiced medicine in Chesapeake, VA for the past 15 years.
Dr. deGuzman-Berube is passionate about women’s health issues and sports medicine. She joined Atwood Family Medical Center in November of 1998 out of a desire to provide comprehensive care to people and their families with the goal of improving their quality of life.
Dr. deGuzman-Berube received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Biology from Gettysburg College, Gettysburg in 1989. She completed her Post Graduate, Baccalaureate Pre-Medicine Program at Columbia University, NY, NY in 1990. Dr. deGuzman-Berube went on to receive her Doctor of Medicine from St. George’s University School of Medicine, Grenada, West Indies, in June of 1995.
She completed her family medicine residency at the University of Maryland, Baltimore in 1998. During this time she was proud to be recognized as Chief Resident from 1997-1998.
Dr. deGuzman-Berube is board certified in family practice, having been re-certified in 2006. She is a member of many medical societies including the Medical Society of Virginia, the American Academy of Family Physicians, and she was President of the American Medical Women’s Association in 2011.
