Gary D. Fortner, MD

Family Medicine

Gary D. Fortner graduated from Loma Linda University School of Medicine at Loma Linda, California. In 1976, he went to Orlando, Florida to begin his residency at Florida Hospital. Dr. Fortner finished up his residency program in 1979 and is a Diplomat of the American Board of Family Medicine and a member of the American Board of Family Practice.

Dr. Fortner has been practicing Family Medicine in Claremore for over 30 years. He has served on numerous hospital committees and a long standing member of the AAFP. Dr. Fortner has been practicing family medicine including pre-natal and delivery to geriatrics and everyone in between. Dr. Fortner has always had a special interest in Preventive Medicine. He feels that these steps are the best way to treat disease and achieve optimal health physically, mentally and spiritually.

In his spare time, Dr. Fortner enjoys spending time with his wife, two children and two grandsons. He enjoys working outdoors in the garden and woodworking, and working on automobiles as well. Faith is important to Dr. Fortner as well and he enjoys Bible study and church events. Dr. Fortner loves the choice he made to pursue a career in medicine and helping the people of his community achieve and main- tain a healthy and fulfilling life.
