Dr. Kevin Haggerty is a board-certified family physician has been in practice in the Bay Area since 2009. Dr. Haggerty as a Bay Area native and it attended local schools graduating from Archbishop Mitty high school. It was at Mitty that he met his future wife and practice partner Dr. Jennifer Haggerty.
Dr. Haggerty has worked in different healthcare settings; first with Kaiser Permanente and subsequently with Stanford healthcare. He also maintains a busy nursing home practice. In both of these environments Dr. Haggerty was responsible for more than 3000 patients assigned to him. After having worked in high volume, high acuity settings he realized that a smaller more intimate practice would allow him to provide the care that patients truly need and deserve.
Dr. Haggerty enjoys number of the different aspects of Family Medicine and Geriatrics. Musculoskeletal and sports medicine have long been a area of focus for Dr. Haggerty, he has worked in musculoskeletal injury clinics, hand a clinic, and recently has completed a course in musculoskeletal ultrasound; a way of diagnosing musculoskeletal injuries at the bedside.
Dr. Haggerty believes that’s open to alternative medicine and makes a concerted effort not to prescribe a pill for every ill. He has recently expanded his knowledge in this area and has recently become board certified in Lifestyle Medicine (will have this by November 2024). He also has done extensive education on hormone therapy and natural supplements and is open to using them as part of a patient’s treatment plan.
Finally, Dr. Haggerty has developed a professional and personal interest in geriatric medicine. This has occurred throughout the course of his career and beginning in 2020 he started a nursing home practice and currently serves as the medical director of two facilities. He also has worked in Hospice and palliative care.
In his free time Dr. Haggerty enjoys sports, running, soccer, hiking, tennis, live music, playing music and time with his family and friends. He enjoys supporting local professional soccer teams (go Earthquakes and Bay FC!)
