Dr. Michael Perini is a highly experienced internal medicine physician with a distinguished career spanning over three decades. At 59 years old, Dr. Perini brings a wealth of knowledge and a deep commitment to patient-centered care to his role as a concierge physician.

Dr. Perini moved to Virginia in 1979 and pursued his undergraduate studies at James Madison University, where he earned a BS in Biology. He then settled in Richmond in 1986 and obtained a MS in Biology-Neuroanatomy from Virginia Commonwealth University. Dr. Perini attended medical school at Ross University School of Medicine graduating with Honors and the Distinguished Scholar award. He completed his Internal Medicine residency in 2000 at the University of South Florida in Tampa.

In 2001, Dr. Perini returned to Richmond and became a founding member of the Hospitalist group at Chippenham-Johnston Willis Medical Center (CJW). He served as the Medical Director of the CJW Hospitalist group and held various leadership roles, including Chief of Staff from 2018-2020. During this period he received several awards including Richmond Magazine’s TOP DOCS from 2012-2019, Chesterfield Family Practice – Outstanding Educator in Internal Medicine 2011-2012, and the HCA Frist Humanitarian Award nominee 2010, and 2016.

Since 2020, Dr. Perini has been dedicated to improving healthcare delivery through innovative solutions. He has served as the Chief Medical Officer for HealthBridge, a startup focused on Chronic Care Management and Remote Patient Monitoring. Additionally, he is the Medical Director and partner of TeleDoc Weight Loss, a telemedicine weight loss program. Dr. Perini has also developed a telemedicine service for homebound patients, providing primary care at home through home healthcare.

Dr. Perini’s transition to concierge medicine reflects his commitment to delivering personalized, high-quality care. This model allows him the time necessary to fully assess patients and tailor individualized care plans. Dr. Perini is dedicated to fostering strong patient relationships and ensuring comprehensive, attentive medical care. Dr. Perini believes in a patient-centric approach, where understanding each patient’s unique needs and health goals is paramount. Dr. Michael Perini resides in Midlothian, Virginia with his wife Courtney and their two daughters. When he is not pursuing his passion of improving healthcare he is engaged in his daughters’ participation in volleyball, cares for their many animals, and enjoys working out for personal fitness.
