Cardiovascular Medicine
Dr. Hemstreet was born in Durham, North Carolina, but grew up in Birmingham, Alabama. He received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham and Rhodes College in Memphis, Tennessee. He completed his residency at Baptist Health Systems in Birmingham and his Cardiology/Interventional Cardiology fellowship at The University of Texas, Houston. Dr. Hemstreet is Board Certified in Cardiovascular Diseases. He entered private cardiology practice in Tuscaloosa in 2007, prior to founding his own practice, Alabama Heart and Vascular Medicine, in 2012. His interests include peripheral arterial disease, critical limb ischemia, vascular medicine, and the prevention of cardiovascular disease. Dr. Hemstreet is married with six children. His passions include his family, traveling, and encouraging others to seek a deeper faith.
