Dr. Rahul Gandhi is a Maryland native, born and raised in Montgomery County. Following his graduation from the University of Maryland, he completed his medical education at Ross University School of Medicine. After finishing his residency in Internal Medicine at MedStar Washington Hospital Center, he continued working with MedStar for eight more years, working in the Bethesda office and helping it grow to become one of the biggest primary care practices in the area.
Dr. Gandhi’s approach to his practice is to keep the patient involved in the process. He does not want to dictate care but rather engage with his patients and ensure that they understand and agree with why he recommends tests, treatments or referrals. He believes this leads to a true doctor-patient relationship. Dr. Gandhi has previously been named a top doctor by Washingtonian Magazine. Dr. Gandhi is married with two children. Outside of the office, he spends as much time as he can with his family and friends playing basketball, swimming, attempting to get his first hole in one, and passing his love for DC sports to his wife, daughter, and son.
