Robert J. Saltman, MD graduated from Yale University in 1976 summa cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa. He first came to St. Louis to attend Washington University School of Medicine, earning his MD degree in 1980. Internship and residency in internal medicine were completed at Barnes Hospital in 1983, followed by subspecialty training in Endocrinology and Metabolism also at Barnes Hospital/Washington University.
He served as Co-Chief Resident of the Internal Medicine Service at Barnes Hospital in 1985 and co-edited the 25th edition of the Washington University Manual of Medical Therapeutics.
He is currently board certified in internal medicine and endocrinology. Awards include the Barnes-Jewish Hospital Community Scholar Award and yearly selection to Best Doctors in America since 2001.
Dr. Saltman has been in practice in St. Louis for the past 35 years and has dedicated his efforts toward integrating subspecialty consultation in Diabetes and Endocrinology with primary care. His goal has always been and will always be to bring the latest advancements in these fields to his patients with an emphasis on preventative medicine.
He currently is on staff at Barnes-Jewish West County and Missouri Baptist Hospitals.
Dr. Saltman is married to his wife of 42 years, Linda Eichler Saltman who is also the office manager and has three grown children and three grandchildren.
