Dr. Tolar grew up hearing stories of how his grandfather cared for the community as a town physician and it inspired him to become a family physician. He attended Texas A&M University where he graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Nutrition. He then obtained his medical degree from The University of Texas Health Science Center Medical School in San Antonio, TX. After completing residency programs at Carswell Air Force Base (Fort Worth, TX), Offutt Air Force Base (Omaha, NE) and University of Nebraska Medical Center (Omaha, NE), Dr. Tolar served eight years active duty in the Air Force as a family medicine doctor in Minot, ND and Anchorage, AK.
In 2004, he opened a family medical practice in Keller, TX, which later joined Texas Health Physicians Group. Dr. Tolar and the staff at Texas Health Family and Sports Care practice with an emphasis on preventative medicine. He sees patients of all ages and his clinical interests include sports medicine, sports injury care and men’s health services. Dr. Tolar is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, American College of Sports Medicine and American Board of Family Medicine.
In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his wife and family, hunting, fly fishing and being outdoors. He also loves to cook and watch movies. His favorite part of being a doctor is interacting with new patients. Dr. Tolar is a man of faith and sees each patient interaction as an opportunity to develop a new relationship and positively impact someone’s life in a meaningful way.
