Tarique Zahir, MD, is an Internal Medicine physician at Prosperity Internal Medicine in Reston, Virginia. Dr. Zahir is proud to deliver exceptional medical care to adults, working closely with them to improve their health and quality of life.
Dr. Zahir was born and raised in Beckley, West Virginia. He earned his undergraduate degree from Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. He then went on to pursue his medical education at the Marshall University Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine in Huntington, West Virginia.
After completing his formal education, Dr. Zahir received internship training from Case Western Reserve University/MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland, Ohio, and further training in Internal Medicine at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, NC. Since practicing Internal Medicine, he was recognized for being a “Top Doctor” by Northern Virginia Magazine for four years, from 2018-2021. He was also honored with the Washingtonian “Top Doctors Award” for nine years in a row, starting in 2016 through 2024.
