National Women’s Health Week

National Women’s Health Week

This week marks National Women’s Health Week, a weeklong health observance initiated by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ Office on Women’s Health. With the goal of promoting good physical and mental women’s health, the theme this year is “It’s Your Time.”

According to www.womenshealth.gov, some of the necessary steps to achieve optimal health include:

  • Getting at least 2 hours and 30 minutes of moderate physical activity, 1 hour and 15 minutes of vigorous physical activity, or a combination of both, each week
  • Eating a nutritious diet
  • Visiting a health care professional to receive regular checkups and preventive screenings
  • Avoiding risky behaviors, such as smoking and not wearing a seatbelt
  • Paying attention to mental health, including getting enough sleep and managing stress

At SignatureMD, our concierge physicians make all of these a top priority for each patient year round, by developing a clear and goal-oriented proactive wellness plan. For patients needing to lose weight, lower cholesterol, sleep more, manage stress or a myriad of other things, SignatureMD doctors develop a customized plan and assist patients in achieving optimal physical and mental health.

At the cornerstone of SignatureMD’s program is an Executive Physical, which is a 90 minute, comprehensive evaluation that includes an hour-long follow-up to discuss results and outline a plan. We take women’s and men’s health very seriously, which is why our concierge medicine services ensure “it’s your time” all the time.
