Dr. Lakshmi Sastry is a diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine and has practiced Internal Medicine in Maryland for 22 years.

Dr. Sastry went to medical school in India and completed her internship in Internal Medicine at the University of Washington, Seattle. After finishing Internal Medicine residency at the George Washington University Medical Center, Washington, D.C., she stayed on in the area as a primary care physician in Bethesda, Maryland serving Montgomery County.

She is affiliated with Suburban Hospital in Bethesda. As an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences, she is a member of their medical school teaching staff.

She is experienced in Primary and Preventive care as well as Geriatrics. Dr. Sastry believes that every patient is an individual with a unique story to tell. She encourages her patients to become engaged in charting their health goals and partner with her in working toward them. She cherishes the long relationships she has enjoyed with her patients. Her warm, caring bedside manner together with her experience and expertise in her field make her a trusted choice for multiple generations of the area families to seek medical care.

She lives in Bethesda, Maryland with her husband and two sons. She enjoys gardening, hiking and cooking.
