Dr. Nora Barsony is originally from Budapest, Hungary but has been a resident of Arizona since 1997. She received her medical degree from Semmelweis University, College of Medicine in Budapest, Hungary. After finishing medical school she was a visiting research fellow at Clinical Research Center at MIT, where she was involved in the clinical study on childhood obesity. Dr. Barsony completed her internship and residency at the Tucson Medical Center, and her fellowship at the VA and Good Samaritan Hospital in Phoenix, Arizona. She is double board-certified in Internal Medicine and Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism.
After finishing her fellowship in Phoenix, she moved back to Tucson and for several years worked at the underserved community clinic at Marana Health Center as a primary care physician and endocrinologist. The following few years, she was an attending physician at the University of Arizona Medical Center outpatient Clinic at North Hills. Over the last 12 years, Dr. Barsony has been working as an endocrinologist and diabetes specialist in private practice in Tucson, as a member of the Arizona Community Physicians (ACP). Her passion is taking care of patients with all kinds of endocrine diseases, including a variety of thyroid conditions, and challenging cases of metabolic conditions such as diabetes. She is a good listener and believes in tailoring treatment to each patient’s needs. All her patients receive a personalized plan for dietary changes and together they find the best-suited treatment plan that works with their lifestyle. Her treatment plan will include metabolic assessment, personalized exercise tips to improve overall wellness, and easy to follow dietary recommendations.
