Dr. Scott Leone graduated from the University of Pennsylvania as a double major, before receiving his medical degree from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. Throughout his medical career he has served as a medical educator, having trained hundreds of medical students and residents as faculty of several medical schools and as Director of Medical Education at UPMC Mercy and the Allegheny Health Network. He served as Vice-Chair of the Dept. of Family Medicine at UPMC Mercy for over 10 years.
A skilled clinician, board certified in osteopathic family medicine, he has been committed to provide exceptional and personalized care to his patients for more than 25 years. He is a member of the NEJM Catalyst Insights Council, and Doctors4Patient Care, trying to effect positive change in the healthcare delivery system. Dr. Leone has received the Compassionate Doctor Award and Patients’ Choice Award on Vitals.com annually since 2008. Only 1% of all doctors in the United States are bestowed this honor by their patients, with a distinct few receiving the 5 year awards.
