Dr. Sheen grew up in Kentucky and attended the University of Kentucky School of Medicine, where her interest in primary care began while doing rotations in the Appalachian mountains. She went to Washington University in St Louis for her Internal Medicine training and from there, she came to practice in the metro DC area. She started her career with an Internal Medicine practice in Fairfax, VA then later joined Georgetown University Hospital where she practiced for several years at different satellite clinics in Rockville, MD, Ballston, VA and DC. She subsequently moved overseas with her husband for 10 years, where she lived and practiced medicine in several beautiful countries (Philippines, Vietnam, Italy, and UAE), learning and appreciating the different cultures and health standards.
Dr. Sheen joined Primary Care at Foxhall in 2011 and has been in practice for over 25 years. Her philosophy is to treat her patients as a whole and to get them involved in better understanding their health. Dr. Sheen’s primary interests are in preventive medicine and providing a thorough, holistic approach to each individual.
In her spare time, she enjoys cooking, traveling and spending time with her husband and three children and dog, Chester.
