Fred S. Markham, MD received his medical degree from the University of Arizona, College of Medicine, Tucson, AZ in 1980. He interned at the VA Hospital, Long Beach, CA, and the University of California Irvine Medical Center in 1981. He completed his residency in internal medicine at LAC/USC Medical Center in 1981.
Dr. Markham is president of Fred S. Markham, MD, PC, which he founded in July 2005. Dr. Markham has been practicing medicine in Prescott since 1985. He has spent his entire medical career serving the Prescott community.
In addition to his practice in internal medicine, he worked as an emergency room physician at Yavapai Regional Medical Center from 1985 to 2014. Dr. Markham was the Medical Director of Prescott House Residential Treatment Center from 1988 until 2018. He has been the medical director of Nurses Network Home Health Agency since 2003, and Good Samaritan Hospice since 2014. He has served as Vice President of the Yavapai Regional Medical Center medical staff and Chairman of the Department of Medicine. He also served on the Pharmacy and Therapeutics committee, Prehospital Care committee, Emergency Room committee, Credentials and Psychiatry committees.
Dr. Markham was certified as a member of the American Board of Internal Medicine in 1984.
